Oulton duathlon + marathon fun

Big congratulations to Garry Walker for last weekend, competing at Oulton Standard Distance Duathlon. As a. ETU European Champs 2015 qualifier, this was always going to be a tough race, with a top field out racing. This meant a fastpace from the get-go; 1st through the 2-lap, 8.61km run was eventual winner Luke Pollard in a ridiculous 29:18! Garry with 11th into T1 in a still very impressive 30:50 - the top guys were all still very tightly packed at this point! Picking off places throughout the 9-lap, 21.55km bike leg with one of the day's fastest bike splits, Garry followed up with a  final 4.307km run of 15:37 to finish 4th overall - 1st in age group for a euro qualifying spot too. Garry also recieved the award for 1st senior due to the standard '1 prize per competitor' rule - bargain ;) Good day out,and looking good for Mallorca!

(Distances to 3 decimal places from Xtra Mile events website - data overkill?!)

Also out this weekend were Chris Wright at Chester Marathon - a late season/ pre-rest blowout and Chris' first non-Ironman marathon! - which he completed in 3:46:03 , and Georgia Campbell, who took up a late entry for Kielder marathon to shake out her legs post-ultra, finishing in 3:39:28.

Well done all :)
