Ding...Ding! Round Two

So part one of Coalfields RT race weekend is complete with a successful journey down to the Dambuster Duathlon for Garry and his opening race of the season!

As is usually the case on Rutland water, the wind was high and the mercury was low so it was layers a plenty to keep the cramping at bay!!! You guessed it, it wasn't enough! But this was a race that was going to turn up the heat! For an opening race of the season, it doubled up as both a world champ qualifying event for 2014 and a European Champ qualifying event for 2015!  So this race as usual attracted a very high class competition!
"Slower than last year but some great learning and coaching points to work on"  Garry couldn't be more delighted with his 28th place overall, 4th place in age category and taking the 1st qualifying spot for the 2015 Euro Champs, he has secured his GB kit for another season should he choose to travel!

And throwing in a 10km PB time of 35:51, I think he may be beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel following injury lay off at the end of last year!

Turning our attentions to round 2, we see a number of the team hitting the roads and the trails with some early starts tomorrow morning!

Angela and Georgia will be at the Brough Law 5 mile fell race, further testing the legs after a bit of run time off herself! And On two wheels Elliot Gowland, Mick Proud, Dave Wallace, Paul Somerville and Kerry Gowland will be lining up in the race of truth at the Stokesley Time Trial!

Good luck Coalfields and all who sail in her tomorrow!  Have a great race and first and for most do yourselves proud and remember all the team are right behind you!!!

Updates as soon as we get them tomorrow!!!
