Not just an Ironman but a 10x Ironman

I held off on this post yesterday as I wanted complete weekend results through, but now they are in, and they are confirmed, I think each and every one of us has reason to be proud today!

What a great weekend we have had again as Coalfields Race team all out there doing yourselves and your colours justice!  Yesterday saw our first outing as a club at the Cleveland relays which went down with great success! Garry Walker, Mick Proud, Paul Somerville, and Mathew Turnbull powered their Orange train to overall victory some 3.5 mins ahead of he rest and Ten mins over second in category!

That second in category contained two of our very own. Jenn Batey and Mick Lavender on his first ride out since eating Tarmac at Sunderland!!! Brilliant guys.

Our Ladies team of Angela and Georgia Campbell, Lisa Irving, and Linda Brewis scooped third place and our Male B team Andrew Somerville, Steve Williams, Paul Lavender and Sean Lavender finished 6th in category 12th overall.

But I think you will all agree that the pinnacle of the weekend is the news we have all just had confirmed this morning! Elliot '10x ironman' Gowland is going to Kona for the second time!!!

Finishing a fantastic 7th in Category and 35th overall including the Pro field.  What an achievement for us all to aspire to!!!

So roll on Wednesday! Chris Philpott will be pulling on his GB kit for the first time in the World Aquathlon champs in Hyde Park in London, closely followed on Friday by Garry Walker and Gavin Sword in the Sprint World Champs, leading to the finale on Sunday where Jenn Batey gets to step into her kit for the second time this year to in the standard distance.

Good luck everyone! Race like you have never raced before, hurt like hell but stay safe!!!

That's me until after London!!!

Adios
