Race round-up 4/4/14

As April arrives, we are now really getting stuck into into race season – this weekend sees our biggest race turnout so far this year, following some brilliant early season results!

Playing away, we have Michael Lavender, Gav Richardson and Matty Davidson racing at Skipton Triathlon, and Keith Sutton competing at Halesowen Tri.

Following a tough ride at Nidderdale sportive last weekend, Kerry and Elliot Gowland are getting back in the saddle to take part in the Stockton Wheelers 23 mile TT, sure to be a great ride out.

At home, we have 2 local duathlons this weekend, and there should be a great CFRT turnout at both – really showing off the strength and depth of our racing team! At Durham we have an 8-man line-up taking on Sunday’s 5km/25km/5km course.  Kris Heskett, Chris Philpott, Mick Proud, and Paul Somerville are all lining up alongside Dave and Mike Wallace, and Rob and Chris Wright (sure there’ll be no competition going on between the brothers there :P). Meanwhile, at Morpeth, we have 7 athletes signed up for the Sprint distance – as an ITU world duathlon qualifying event, this is sure to be fast and furious racing for Angela Campbell, Matthew Fearn, Sean Harrion, Gavin Sword, Matthew Turnbull, and Jo and Guillaume Zoppi – while Georgia Campbell and Micky Morris take on the standard distance course.

Good luck to all 23 athletes(!) racing out there this weekend – have fun, stay safe, and show off that orange and blue! Be loud and proud - looking forward to hearing about some great results.
