Champions



So after Garry and Elliot qualifying for 2014 European Champs last weekend in Kitzbuhel, how do you follow that?

By having another awesome weekend of results this weekend across the country for Coalfields RT!!!

On Friday, in Nottingham Paul Lavender, racing in the emergency services national championships, finished 12th overall and 1st in his age Category.

Following that on Sunday was an outing in the BTF National sprint championships in Notts.  in what can only be described as perfect conditions, Garry Walker, Elliot Gowland and Matt Turnbull, Gavin Sword and Jo Short, took on the Countries best in an attempt  to qualify for the world champs in London in September!

Not only did he qualify to race in the Worlds, Garry finished first in his age group to be crowned national champion for 2013.  With 7 qualifying spots up for grabs, both Jo and Gavin finished 8th with a ore qualifier already in Gavin's race we are holding out for another qualifier there!  

At QE2 today more great results in saw Elliot finish 2nd overall and 1st Vet, Georgia 2nd overall and 2nd senior, Angela 1st Vet, Mick Lavender 5th overall and 3rd Senior!!!

Awesome results from everyone else racing with some brilliant PBs smashed over last years results.

Finally, news just in from Chester at Diva standard distance Tri, Jenn Batey has also qualified for the world championships standard distance race finishing 3rd in her age category!!! Although not a club member, Congratulations must also go out to Natalie Batey too, finishing 5th in her age category and waiting to hear if has been awarded a world championship slot!
